Our Melbourne trip
Daily highlights of our trip...
19th Sat: Arrived at Melb airport at 10.45pm ( 12.45am melb)
20th Sun: We had delicious cheese sticks & coffee for breakfast. Nai nai prepared a picnic basket (bee hoon, fruits, sweets, drinks & bread) for our trip to Philips Island. We rented a 8 seaters car. Along the way, we stopped by Warook farm and Kayla fed the sheep & cow. Arrived at Philips Island to see the penguins. It was 6.30pm. Extremely cold!
21st Mon: Morning we toured around the city. Had yummy pizza, spaghetti & lagsana for dinner. Followed by a 30mins walk to Crown Casino. Good exercise!
22nd Tues: Daddy has a headache, so shu shu (aka my brother-in-law) companied us to QV supermarket & Big W (quite similiar to Giant). Dinner at a Vietnamese resturant.
23rd Wed: Daddy & nai nai were busy with the PR issues the whole day so shu shu drove us to Bundoora Park (Melb's most diverse park) to see more sheeps, pigs and kangaroos! Kayla bottle-fed the goats, with the help of mummy me.
Oh its shu shu's 28th bday today. We bought a cheesecake for him and went to "Old Kingdom" for delicious peking duck.
24th Thurs: Brought the kids to Sciencepark (highly recommended by shu shu's friend). Half way through the 3D show, Kayla cried for milk and insisted to leave the planetorium, so I had to carry her out while the rest got to enjoy the awesome effects!! Including Kieran!
Shu shu wanted to bring us to try out the fish & chips at Chapel St. but it was closed or closed down(??) so we went back to the city for Souvalki at Stalachetites.
Early night for the kids & the 2 grannies. Daddy, shu shu & I went for hot chocolate at the supposedly famous koko black and ice cream (cant remember the name). It was good! Bought some chocolates for the 2 grannies. Expensive! About S$2 for a small one.
25th Fri: ANZAC day. Public holiday today. Woke up early to bring the kids to watch the parade. Dont know if its the weather or daddy passed the bug to me, I felt so tired & my nose is blocked! Anyway, continued to shop at Myers. Bought a aqua doodle Thomas & friends mat for the kids. The train follows the track we draw on the mat. So amazing!!
Slept early as I was not feeling too well :(
26th Sat: Went to Queen Victoria market. It was so crowded.. so many fruit stalls! Had sausages & hot coffee for lunch. After we brought all the bags of goodies home, we went to the supermarket to buy more tibits to bring back to Sg. Also bought a tin of S26 soy formula for Kieran (he drinks like a cow!) and diapers for the kids (they pee like an elephant! I brought 2.5 packs, still not enough!). Guess how much is the cheapest brand in australia? S$40 for 96pcs!! Expensive man.
The weather is so good, we just feel like sleeping all day long. . had dinner at home.
27th Sun: Attended mass at St. Francis Church, the first church in Melbourne (built in 1879). It is a small cosy church. While the kids were taking their afternoon nap, popo daddy & I went to Melbourne Museum park & Federation square to take photos. We enjoyed tea & cakes at Timeout cafe.
Dinner at this "oh so good" pizza restaurant- Cafe Calvalino. I dont think I will eat pizzas from Pizza Hut again!
28th Mon: Today temp is 7! Coldest day of our holiday. Brought the kids to Melbourne Museum park to take more photos (because the park is simply beautiful).
Took a tram to Smith St. where Nike, Addidas etc warehouses are.
Nai nai bought roast chickens and wedges for dinner. Too cold and no mood to go anywhere because tomorrow we will be back to reality!! Back to Singapore! :(
29th Tues: Back in Singapore (midnight)

Fun shots
Ok, finally the kids are asleep & I can show off some of my family photos taken today. It was 1hr of hard work trying to make the kids smile! Daddy & I had to catch our breath before every pose. Poor popo had to be a clown for the day.
Out of the 202 photos, there were a few bad shots like eyes half closed, "buay song" look, spare tyres and double chin ha ha.. but we had fun :)
