Bondi Beach

Postdated: 28th Oct.'08
Bondi Beach, one of Australia's most famous beaches. It is well known for its great sandy beach, as well as its surf.

It was so windy and cold, we didnt let the kids swim. They were contented playing with the white fine sand!

My friends' kids. They are here for a holiday till 2nd Nov.

Sand so clean & powdery!!

Taking a closer look!

The lady in blue gave an entertaining commentary on the pelicans and general info. about the area.

Kayla enjoyed feeding the birds at the park nearby and...

Kieran enjoyed eating the bread!!! *see the white bread in his mouth? faint*

Caught eating the birds food again!!

Part 2

Kieran's birthday gift is a little tikes GrandCoupe car.

Not forgetting a birthday cake (white and dark choc fillings YUM!)...

Happy day

Cannot believe I was down with exhaustion for almost 1 week & I had a blocked nose which finally unclogged today!! Such a relief!

Anyway, I stayed at home with the kids for the past few days... painting, doodling and playdoh-ing. Ha! Ha!

Mummy helped Kayla to make little animals.

Kayla has been asking to go to the Ikea playarea since that "angry day". Daddy was on leave today so he took her there and that brought a closure to my disturbed heart, when I saw how happy she was!

Olympic Aquatic Centre

Last Friday, I brought the kids to the Olympic swimming pool. Rachel & baby Ellie went too. All 3 of us were down that night (mummy me down with exhaustion; kids down with a cold). I pushed myself a little too hard that day because I wanted to finish all the housework before going out & it was a bone-breaking job to handle 2 kids at the pool!!

At the entrance.

Part of the pool.

Kayla (backview), Ellie & Kieran.

p/s: I will not be so ambitious & tire myself out again. Cant afford to fall sick!

Giant basketball

To complete Kieran's collection of his favourite toy, daddy bought a giantic basketball (soft & light) !!

Random entries

At least once a week, Uncle Lee will cook dinner for his family and we will be invited to taste the yummiest home-cooked meal!! He makes the best chicken rice, kway chap and curry!!! Slurp!

Kieran relaxing on a beach chair & watching cartoon at Uncle Lee's place.

There is a WIDE selection of diary products in the supermarkets like fresh milk, yoghurt and cheese. I bought this cheese sticks with strawberries & yoghurt for Kieran as he doesnt like plain cheese (Kayla loves plain cheese!!).

Both of them love this HotDog van! One drive and the other sell hotdogs!! Ha ha!

Doing Ok

Past 2 days were good. My angels were cooperative; they entertained themselves while I cleaned the house & cooked. I feel its necessary for kids to have a routine. Its good to let them know what to expect from their days. Of course sometimes we need to be flexible.

I have established a routine for myself too! It helps me to be more organised & set aside time for my kids. I will bring them out for a walk or to the playground after lunch or before dinner time. They get frustrated if they are "grounded" at home for the whole day.

I'm still able to squeeze out some me-time when they nap between 2-4pm and when they go to bed at 10pm. It helps to keep my sanity!!

Its still quite cold now. When summer comes, I will bring the kiddos for swimming lessons at the Olympic park.

Overall, I think I am managing ok (fingers & toes crossed!!).

Chatswood

Chatswood is a suburb on the North Shore and it is NS's major commercial and retail districts. This is the 3rd "wood" area we went to. There's Burwood & Eastwood ! More asians in Eastwood.

Got another pair of BabyLegs. Cannot live without it now!! Past few days, the weather was so cold! Anyone keen, let me know. Its at AUD16/pair.

We have tried a few Jap. restaurant here & Sushi-ya is the yummiest!! Garlic butter clams (on the right) is my favourite! The creamy roll sushi (front) was so good !!

My Ang Mo Kia

Its almost impossible to capture nice shots of Kieran these days. He cant sit or stand still for a sec.

I'm lucky today.

I bought his BabyLegs from a BP last year. It was collecting dust in Spore until we came to Sydney. He can wear 3/4 pants & I dont have to worry his little legs are cold. Makes diaper changing quick & easy too!

Floral Festival

We travelled to the Southern Highlands (often referred to as "The Garden Capital of Australia") to see the most beautiful flora flower festival, Tulip Time (my favourite flower!). It features a spectacular tulip display showcasing over 100,000 tulips!!

Garden outside the information centre:

At the Corbett Gardens- bursting with fragrance!

We didnt have enough time to see other attractions as all the places closed at 4.30pm!! We are 3hrs ahead of sg time now.

Jiujiu Ki-ren

Postdated: 29th Sept'08

Uncle Lee cooked YUM chicken rice. The kids have so much fun turning his house upside down! Kieran took a while to warm up but see happy he was, on Jiu2 Ki-ren's shoulders.

Big Ki-ren & little Kieran!

远亲不如近邻

Kieran had a bad cough last Sunday. I tried to "self-medicate" with the medicines I got from Dr. Ong but it didnt work.

I was so upset.

Thank God for the new friends I got to know thru friends in Spore. They recommended a few popular GPs near where I am staying. There is also a very good children's hospital in case of emergency (touch wood!). I quickly brought Kieran to see a GP and I felt so so relieved his lungs are cleared.

At times like this, in a foreign land, I really appreciate the help & concern I get from friends here.

Update: Kieran is well & active :)
