Bonding time

Though sometimes I think of my working days and yearly bonuses (!!), nothing beats spending quality time with my 2 rascals. I am not exactly a super fantastic wonder-mummy like some others, but I am learning to be one.

Today, daddy sat down to 1) tell a story by doodling on the Dora's mat and2) complete a 28pcs farm jig saw puzzle with Kayla. Daddy's girl!

Daddy patiently helped Kayla to complete the puzzle. She had fun.

Dont blink your eyes! Thats Diego & Dora!! Clap! Clap! Clap!

Lunch with yeye

Our usual Sunday lunch with yeye at this restaurant at Frankel.

Leaving our home to pick up yeye.

Special Birthday party

Our friend Weixian threw a surprise 33rd birthday party for her hubby and only to be "ruined" by party spoiler DADDY LOW!! I think we were supposed to meet our other friends somewhere first before going to the party venue, which is Relish restaurant, together. Anyway, daddy excitedly stepped into the restaurant and the birthday boy was surprised to see us, of course. Instead of pretending our presence was a concidence (since we were the first family to arrive), daddy happily handed him the gift and shouted SURPRISE!

Exercise time!

My old phone died and daddy bought a new one that allows me to download videos! Thank you daddy!!

Daddy was doing aerobics on his wii fit and the kids joined in!

My aqua duck

Happy 34mths old, Kayla.
Happy 20mths old, Kieran.

Today is the first time Kieran went for a swim and he was pretty cool about it ha ha (I remember Kayla clung onto me for her dear life when she went to the pool for the first time). I made friends with another mummy of two kids in the baby pool. We were the only buffalos there!

Family Dinner

without daddy because he was tied up with work :(

We had dinner at Sushi Tei, at Vivocity (again!). We chose that place because yee yee, who is back for a 2 weeks holiday, loves Japanese food and Kayla loves california maki!

Yee2 being interrogated!! Ha ha!

Stop eavedropping kids!

After dinner, as promised, I brought Kayla to Toys r us to "window shop"! And I spotted this bath toy & bought it for my kids. Cheap & fun!

My Tumble Tot

After a long term break, Kayla was back in school on Monday. I was so worried the crying episode would start again but she was good.. even better than before!

Challenging phase

As a mother, I will encounter challenging stages as my kids grow. I will blog about the different challenges & the progression.

Current challenge: Sibling rivalry
I know there is bound to be some jealousy between siblings but I didnt realise it can be so emotionally and mentally draining. Lately, Kayla has been "fighting" for my attention which puzzles me cuz in the first place all the attention goes to her! If she is in a good mood, then Kieran is lucky to hear me read and sing or put him to bed.

Lucky thing is they dont fight, punch or pull each other's hair. Kayla will only stand in front of me or insist I carry her when I am talking to her brother. This does not happen every day but its draining enough esp. if she kicks a big fuss. Even popo cannot help.

And her latest trick? Complain she has a stomachache. Initially I thought it was for real then I noticed a pattern.. stomachache comes when I am angry with her; when I pay more attention to Kieran or she just want me to carry. Aiyoh!

Overall, she listens and will apologise when she knows she is in the wrong. According to author Dr Spock (been doing alot of research!), rivalrous feelings are often more intense in a firstborn child and a useful principle is everyone in the family gets what they need and sometimes we all need different things. When parents try to treat different children equally rather than individually, jealousy often intensifies.

Will ponder and pray!

A tiring day

Early in the morning, I brought my maid for a hair cut & medical examination. 2hrs went by quickly. Bought lunch, fed the kids and put them to bed at 3pm.

My sister suggested shopping so instead of driving (petrol & ERPs very expensive now!!), we took a train to Vivo city. As usual, Kayla was so excited to be on the train.

By the time we reached there, it was 6.30pm. Wrong time wrong day wrong place! Vivo was so packed. Suddenly we didnt feel like shopping anymore. So while waiting for daddy to finish work, we thought of where to have our dinner BUT everywhere, including the food court, was crowded! In the end, we settled for Modestos.

My Kayla was not so cooperative today. She was very cranky and only want to be carried. She weighs almost 15kg. Very soon my back will break.

On our way to Vivo, from Kovan station.

I am so blessed..

.. with a wonderful man, two active healthy children, supportive family members & good friends.

Today I met my good friend, Sherlin, for coffee and I thought about the fun days we had at CPF. Since I quit my job 19mths ago and became a stay home mum, I seldom keep in touch with my close friends. I realised my life has changed so much.

I am very grateful to my friends for being understanding & forgiving for the times when I have to cancel the appointment at the last min. or when I am forgetful (most of the time I am!). Sherlin & Deborah bought me a lovely birthday gift from Crabtree & Evelyn. Its still early for my bday but they probably know its so difficult to get me out of my cave so gave me the pressie today. I am so touched..

We had matcha ice blended at OCHACHA (matcha is a traditional Jap premium green tea). Very nice!

Happy Father's Day

Today is Gong2's birthday as well..

We celebrated the 2 special occasions at Zhou's kitchen (by Tung Lok) at Anchorvale point (opposite Ikea). We had dim sum high tea! The 3 hungry monsters (Jiu2, Gong2 and daddy) ordered so much food! I think we had over 30 plates of dim sum & desserts!!

Wah, more food??

Happy Birthday Gong2!

I love to scribble!

Kieran loves to scribble. He can hold a pencil very well. Just dont draw on my wall and furniture, son!!

Barney LIVE

We just came back from "Barney, Let's imagine" LIVE performance at Suntec. It was so packed!! The Tan family, aunty Jerlene & little Jenelle were there too. We didnt managed to take a group photo because the show started at 7pm sharp. Surprisingly!

Before the show, we had a quick dinner at the food court at level 1. Seeing that this family had finished their food, I stood next to their table.. and I waited.. and waited.. and then the man said to his wife in mandarin, "Still have alot of time, lets take our time". To do what??! I thought to myself. Some people can be so inconsiderate & disgusting.

So excited!

Neh Neh Neh Neh Neh

Must take a picture with my idol!

Magic..

I read my cousin's blog on Miracle Dr and I couldn't agree more! Read here

I tried going to other PDs nearer to my home but their condition din improve. After a few times, my man & I decided not to waste time & more money on other doctors..ever again!

Kayla was really sick last week. She had high fever for a few days. Popo was so upset and kept saying the female doc. (to cover during Dr. Ong's absence) was lousy. Ha ha! In the end, I had to make another trip to SBCC to say hello to my Uncle. At the same time, I brought Kieran for his 18 mths jab.

Dr Ong gave Kayla Rhiniramine syrup which din make any sense to me, cuz she didnt have any flu! Her throat was abit red though. Anyway, after 2 days of the flu syrup she is completely well! MAGIC..

Thank you Uncle!
