Home Sweet Home

Finally we settled into our home on the 26th Feb.

It was an EXTREMELY tiring day ! Tiring is an understatement !! We were totally numbed & we hardly spoke because we needed to save whatever energy we had left to unpack & settle down asap. I felt my back was about to snap into two !!

Some photos:

Kitchen.

Bathroom.

Living area.

Bedrooms and dining area not ready to show case. Ha ha!!

Bought some decor for the kids' room:

Jungle canvas.

Not everything must be unisex.. Kayla likes the fairy clock.

Kieran's first (and only) soft toy was the white teddy given by Sheimy yiyi. It reads "Baby's First Christmas"! Today he saw this red car and refused to let go so daddy bought it :)

Bone breaking days !!!

The packing, cleaning & kids' whining are wearing our patience thin.

Past few days have been exhausting, fruitless and frustrating ! We combed nearly all the mega home stores and still cant find a proper book shelf and cabinet (for our alter) !! We reluctantly bought a book shelf from Ikea and.. Major regret man !!! It took daddy the whole of yesterday to assemble it and the scary part was it couldnt stand firmly on our carpet! So poor husband had to return it to Ikea and thank God for their wonderful return policy, we got our money back !!

Still have plenty to pack.. update soon !

Feeling nostalgic

It has been 5 years. Compared to many couples I know, 5 years is a short time but many wonderful things have happened to us during this short span of time.

It is not difficult to be a mom but its tough to be a good one! Daddy has been very supportive from the day Kayla arrived till now ... and during my most stubborn days, daddy knows he will get into a debate he can never win so he always give in. I have alot to learn on how to be a better mom & wife.

Thank you for loving me.

Advice for the day

Since Monday, I was tortured by this on & off headache & backache. All I wanted to do was to lie down ... & I hope I was invisible to my kids !!

IF YOU GET A HEADACHE,
DO WHAT IT SAYS
ON THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE:

'TAKE TWO ASPIRIN'
AND 'KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN'!!!

1st lesson at Kindermusik

Guess what? We were the only family who signed up for this term, so we will be having private lessons till June !!! Daddy & I felt really awkward initially but were very relieved when we saw how much Kayla & Kieran enjoyed themselves. They had the teacher's fullest attention and the big space to dance & run, all to themselves !

The kids love story time more than anything else !

Gift from the heart

Almost forgot tomorrow its Valentine's day, until I saw a naked man on my table:

My collection of Tatty Teddies (from courtship, proposal, xmas & valentine's day), from daddy to me.

Happy Valentine's Day !

Touched by a friend

I have been a silient reader/follower of this mummy's blog. She is a amazing mother to a 2yr old boy and I love the food she made. I have never met her but occasionally we will exchange greetings via chatbox & email.

Recently, she got me interested in making bento meals for my children and she was so kind to buy all the basic bento tools for me !!

I hope to prepare delicious (interesting) meals for Kayla to bring to school next year. So have to start experimenting now, especially for a slow learner like me :P

Clockwise: Bento lunchboxes, cutters, food picks/spoons/forks and silicon holders.

Pending: Rice moulds and puncher.

Random entries

1) Lately, I dont have the energy to do anything; my head and back hurts ! Maybe my body is telling me to rest more !

2) The kids love pizzas, real or fake.

So last night, I made BBQ sauce chicken pizzas. Unfortunately, the crust din taste fantastic so the kids ate all the toppings and gave mummy the crusts !

Waiting to go into the oven.

3) Kieran saw jiejie's watch and demanded one too.

Jiu gong's birthday

Last night, I sat down with Kayla to make a birthday card for jiu gong. She wrote jiugong and Kayla with the help of the dots & coloured the balloons I drew :) She is a big fan of DORA so she insisted to paste a picture of Dora & boots in the card ! Ha ha ha!

Kayla's & Kieran's jiu gong (mother-in-law's younger brother).

Mummy, the photographer

Love to snap snap snap the kids at play, because its the best time to capture their prizeless smile & happiness.

Hope you like the new collage as much as I do :)

New activities

The kids were getting alittle restless & bored of the routine. Then I remember one of the fine motor activites Kayla learnt at Tumble Tots: picking and sorting out different beans. It was an easy task for jiejie but she enjoyed it anyway.

Perhaps I should start exploring different fine motor skills activities and introduce them to Kieran.

I bought this Felt Farm, consists of assortment of felt shapes/ animals and 2x scene boards, for them to create lots of fun farm scenes.

A touching note

Many times how I envy my friends who are at the peak of their
careers and many times I harbour thoughts of giving up my 24/7
no bonus, no annual leave but big responsibility job.

One of the reasons that keep me going is this:

4 Feb 09, 22:46
Your Brother: ...I may be the one who is the smart ass in studying..
can play the darn piano or whack some balls, but to see that my
elder sister is leading the way, living responsibly,
dare to embrace changes...
4 Feb 09, 22:40
Your Brother: ...I have been silently reading your blog.. it really
touched my heart..I am so darn impressed that you write so well
and sincerely. I am sure it's from your heart...
4 Feb 09, 22:35
Your Brother: Sis.. I am actually very proud of you...
how far you have move on in life..how quick you are in adapting
to your new home, and more importantly how devoted
you are to your kids....

I just want to say I really look up to you jie. I miss you.

Thank you Ben

Hand in hand

Nowadays, I will make sure Kayla holds didi's hand when we go out, especially without daddy around.

Love the photos!

I love wii !

My new year resolution is to love & take better care of myself.

I havent been exercising like how I used to in Singapore; havent visited the manicurist or gone for facial for the longest time.. totally feel like a 黄脸婆!!! So last week, I started doing aerobics and yoga on my wii fit ! Of course its not as thorough as amore classes but better than not exercising at all !
